Review: The Lifeboat

The Lifeboat The Lifeboat by Charlotte Rogan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A woman finds herself on an overcrowded lifeboat for 21 days before rescue. During that time she learns about her fellow travelers and also relays to the reader the events of both her past and on the lifeboat. Half the time I couldn't tell if the person was hallucinating or being truthful or bending reality to match what they wanted. She admitted to conniving her way into her marriage, so she didn't seem trustworthy the entire time. She ends up on trial for aiding in throwing one of the men overboard who was on the lifeboat with her. The whole thing seemed stressful to me. Not an enjoyable or relaxing read, but great if you love tension and historic fiction.
Not a reread for me. The author did write well and the descriptions were great.
