This was an enjoyable sampling of poetry by an awesome poet, William Jay Smith, the 19th Poet Laureate. Most of the poems were short works of a page or less, which I prefer as more than that and I often lose my concentration and drift off, then have to start over. It shows he was influenced by island living during the war as well as the fate of the American Indian.
