The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Free Yourself and your Family from a Lifetime of Clutter The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning: How to Free Yourself and your Family from a Lifetime of Clutter by Margareta Magnusson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a good read for those who need encouragement to declutter their house. Coming to realize we aren't going to live forever is not always easy for people to accept, and knowing we have an overabundance of things, it's a blessing but also a curse unless we learn to give away, recycle, throw away etc. I enjoyed the whole book except for one portion. The author spoke of owning an older dog. When she decided to move, she thought he was too old to be rehomed or survive the quarantine it would take to bring him to her new home in a different country. So she had him put to sleep. I'm sorry, but that is unacceptable in my book. I would rehome him or I would put off moving until he passed away. I would die myself before I would let my dog be put to sleep just because. I understand if a dog is sick but seriously....he's old, yeah, hope no one puts you to sleep when you get old. It infuriated me and I almost didn't finish the book because of it. If you can focus on other things besides her dog killing, it was a good read.
