The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerrfeld
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Great book about a little boy (it could be either, but I assumed it was a boy) who builds a large castle out of building blocks. It's amazing. Then it gets knocked down. Various animals come by and tell him he should be angry, sad, discouraged. Finally a rabbit comes along and just sits with him until he's ready to talk about it. When the boy talks, he goes all through the various stages of "grief" until he decides to rebuild it. Hugging is sometimes better than using any words.
