Almost Everything: Notes on Hope by Anne Lamott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Notes on hope are just that--when you hit the bottom, there is still always hope. Anne tells us tales from her life and about friends who have hit rock bottom. But there is always hope for a better tomorrow. You can't change your health or getting fired, but you can do things that improve your health or look for a new job. Changing your outlook can go great lengths to changing your feelings of hope. She doesn't try to force a higher power on you--you can call it anything you want, Muffin Man, whatever. But she does believe there is a higher power and that he is always close by. Some of the things she wrote, I just said, "huh, ok," but I don't agree with them. However, I gleaned enough good from her words to make it worth the read.
